New Balance 990v7 Grey First Look: Release Date & Details

The New Balance 990v7 is finally starting to surface, giving sneaker fans their first real look at the next chapter of the iconic 990 series.

After the 990v6 launched in 2022, New Balance appears ready to introduce its next-generation flagship. The first sighting came from New Balance’s Boston headquarters, followed by a billboard teaser in New York City.

Loopwheelers founder Satoshi Suzuki shared a photo from a visit to New Balance’s Boston headquarters, where New Balance chairman Jim Davis was spotted wearing an unreleased grey sneaker believed to be the 990v7.

New Balance later teased the silhouette again on a billboard near Hester and Lafayette Streets in New York City, offering another partial look.

New Balance 990v7 Design

The 990v7 appears to move away from the rounded shape of the 990v6. Early glimpses show a longer profile, lower ankle collar and more streamlined shape.

The silhouette also appears to take inspiration from older 99X models, including the New Balance 2040v5, while maintaining the classic grey styling associated with the 990 family.

So far, New Balance has only teased the sneaker in Grey, with full official details still under wraps.
